The schedule grids for both Austin City Limits and Lollapalooza have now been posted. I still have a couple of conflicts to resolve, but I almost have the perfect schedules created. Behold:

The Joy of Business Expenses

I bought myself some nice things recently. I started out buying the Sony LT, which is probably the best computer I’ve ever owned. There is only one power cord and everything else is wireless. It is also equipped with a Blu Ray player and TV functionality that I have yet to use. Check it out on my desk:

But that wasn’t enough. I had to get myself an iMac to balance things out. On an ideal night I have a glass of wine and 3 screens in front of me — one with a text editor and some code, one with Photoshop running, and one with some stock charts open so that I can monitor my trades. It looks exactly like this:

Austin Karaoke Party

I tagged along with Ashley and her friends from Grad School as they celebrated Christine’s 26th birthday at Austin Karaoke. The place was cool in that each group got their own private room/booth and it was BYOB. While I was hesitant at first, I soon participated in nearly every song. I was told I “acted a fool”. I apologize for any embarrassment this may have caused for my loved ones. Highlights involved songs by Queen, Prince, and Madonna — these are always karaoke classics, so no surprises there. The low point was when it turned out that no one else was familiar with Patience by Guns ‘N Roses and I had to sing it by myself.

Radiohead at the Woodlands

Ashley and I took a trip to Houston for the weekend to see Radiohead perform at the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion. We did a similar trip as a large group about 5 years ago when they were on their Hail to the Thief tour. It was a great show and was very mellow as expected, although they had a fancy light show this time. They performed In Rainbows in its entirety, along with old favorites from OK Computer, Kid A, Amnesiac, etc. The only disappointment was the small number of songs performed from OK Computer. No Paranoid Android, Airbag, or Karma Police? The highlights for me were the “classics” in the encore: You and Whose Army, Street Spirit, Planet Telex, and Idioteque.

Here’s a video of the Nude performance at the show:

Full Setlist

Set 1: 15 Step, Bodysnatchers, Lucky, Morning Bell, Nude, Pyramid Song, Weird Fishes/Apeggi, The Gloaming, National Anthem, Faust Arp, Videotape, Optimistic, Where I End and You Begin, Reckoner, Everything in Its Right Place, All I Need, There There

Encore 1: Jigsaw Falling Into Place, House of Cards, Climbing Up The Walls, Planet Telex, Street Spirit (Fade Out)

Encore 2: You And Whose Army?, Idioteque

The “Afterparty”

After the show we hung out at some bar called Molly’s that was conveniently located in the parking lot of the Super 8 Motel we stayed at. Only the best for us. Ashley took a couple of photos of me at the pub:

As expected, Jack White and the Raconteurs put on an amazing show at Stubb’s. Here are some photos.
